Engineering tools & report automation
When the job isn’t tied to a single analysis program: standalone calculators, desktop applications, parametric workflows and report generators that encode your office’s engineering methods.
What I build
Your engineering methods, as dependable software
Section analysis
Fiber-based P–M–M interaction and moment–curvature analysis for complex reinforced concrete cross-sections.
Seismic input tools
Response spectrum generation and comparison, ground-motion databases and record selection.
Report automation
Word, Excel and PDF reports assembled from analysis data, following your templates, numbering and units.
Parametric workflows
Rhino/Grasshopper components that turn architectural geometry into analysis-ready structural models.
Desktop applications
Windows applications with a proper interface for tools used across a team, built in C#/.NET, C++/Qt or Python.
Result visualization
Clear plots and summaries of large result sets, ready for design reviews and client reports.
From spreadsheet to software
Keep the engineering, lose the fragility
Critical office spreadsheets are a common starting point. Rebuilding one as a tool follows three steps.
-
Verify the logic
The existing calculation is reviewed and checked against worked examples before anything is rebuilt.
-
Rebuild with guardrails
Inputs are validated, units are explicit, and the calculation steps are recorded rather than hidden in cells.
-
Report consistently
Every run produces the same clear output, ready to include in calculations and reviews.
Technologies
Chosen for your team, not for fashion
- Python
- C# / .NET
- C++ / Qt
- MATLAB
- Excel / VBA
- Rhino & Grasshopper
FAQ
Tool questions
Spreadsheets, office standards and design codes.
Can you turn our spreadsheet into an application?
Yes. The spreadsheet logic is verified first, then rebuilt with validated inputs, explicit units and consistent output. The original stays available for comparison during validation.
Will the reports follow our office standards?
That’s the goal. Templates, numbering, units and wording are agreed during scoping and checked on sample output before delivery.
Which design codes can section tools follow?
The calculation basis is agreed for each tool — for example ACI 318, Eurocode 2, or Hong Kong or Chinese concrete codes — and documented with it.

Which part of your workflow should run itself?
